Job Description

The Monarch at Richardson seeks an Assistant Director of Nursing to support our Wellness Director in administering nursing services. You'll help direct, plan, and coordinate professional nursing personnel while ensuring quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do
  • Assist in analyzing and evaluating nursing services to ensure quality resident care
  • Oversee resident healthcare needs, medication delivery systems, and in-service training coordination
  • Provide nursing services including resident instruction, wellness counseling, and disease prevention
  • Coordinate and manage move-in assessments, service plans, and regular care reviews with families
  • Supervise nursing personnel, conduct staff training, and maintain proper documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for assisted living and memory care
  • Maintain infection control compliance and participate in quality assurance auditing
  • Be available after-hours as needed to support the Wellness Director
Requirements
  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse licensed in Texas
  • LPN: 4+ years full-time clinical nursing experience within past 10 years; at least 1 year in home healthcare or community health
  • RN: 2+ years full-time clinical nursing experience; at least 1 year in home healthcare or community health
  • Experience and passion working with seniors
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
  • Good physical and emotional health; free of communicable diseases

Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies. Many nurses in this setting say the most rewarding part is knowing their residents personally and being able to notice subtle changes that a rotating hospital nurse might miss.
