How you’ll contribute A Certified Nurse Aide CNA who excels in this role is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures.: Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment. Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom. Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner. Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness. Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting. Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings. Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately. Perform other related duties as assigned. What we’re looking for Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Education : Required: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course. Experience : Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred. Licenses : Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant. Throughout the shift, you will assist with meals, escort residents to activities, monitor for changes in behavior or health, and document everything in the care log. Vital signs checks happen at regular intervals, and you will be the first person to notice if something seems off with a resident.

The team dynamic is close-knit. You will work alongside other aides, report to the charge nurse, and communicate with families who visit. In memory care units, redirection and engagement activities are a big part of the role — keeping residents calm, oriented, and socially active. The work is physically and emotionally demanding, but many aides describe deep bonds with the residents they care for and a sense of purpose that keeps them in the field long-term.
