Job Description
Hospice Registered Nurse – Lead with heart and transform end-of-life care in the East Dallas area. Be the primary point of contact for patients and families, delivering personalized hospice and palliative care with dignity, comfort, and love.
What You'll Do
- Serve as primary contact for patients and families throughout their hospice journey
- Deliver skilled nursing care and symptom management aligned with individualized Plans of Care
- Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments to monitor patient condition and adjust care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and refine personalized care plans
- Provide education and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers on medications, symptom management, and end-of-life processes
Requirements
- Current RN license in the state of employment and current CPR Certification
- Minimum one year RN experience in acute care, oncology, long-term care, hospice, or home health
- Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
- Strong patient assessment skills and knowledge of hospice and palliative care principles
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations

Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies. The documentation load in senior living is significant — state surveys and compliance requirements mean thorough charting is non-negotiable. Many nurses in this setting say the most rewarding part is knowing their residents personally and being able to notice subtle changes that a rotating hospital nurse might miss.
