Job Description

Join Medical City Dallas as an RN Pediatrics Super Pool and work across multiple pediatric units in an 895-bed tertiary care center. You'll provide direct patient care to acute and critically ill pediatric patients while supporting our mission of excellence in healthcare.

What You'll Do

  • Organize, implement, and evaluate individualized, family-centered care plans for pediatric patients
  • Deliver high-quality age-specific care for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult populations
  • Participate in Medical City Dallas initiatives and process improvement efforts
  • Work across 4 pediatric units including NICU, PICU, CHSU, Peds ED, and others
  • Support the organization's mission, vision, and values in daily practice

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited School of Professional Nursing; BSN required within 24 months if hired after 6/1/12
  • 3-6 years RN experience in pediatrics with minimum 3 years hospital experience
  • Ability to work 4 pediatric areas, including 2 critical care units
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
  • PALS, STABLE, and Neonate Resuscitate certifications within 60 months of employment start date

Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies. The documentation load in senior living is significant — state surveys and compliance requirements mean thorough charting is non-negotiable. Many nurses in this setting say the most rewarding part is knowing their residents personally and being able to notice subtle changes that a rotating hospital nurse might miss.
