Job Description
BrightStar Care of Denton, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse for private duty home health care. Make a difference in patients' lives while enjoying flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.
What You'll Do
- Monitor patient conditions and assess needs to provide best possible care and advice
- Perform routine procedures including blood pressure measurements and administering injections
- Adjust and administer patient medications and provide treatments per physician orders
- Provide emergency medical care and counsel clients and families through care process
- Foster supportive, compassionate environment for patients and their families
Requirements
- Current unrestricted RN license in Texas
- Minimum one year documented experience in home health agency, primary care clinic, or health facility
- Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Proficiency in IV skills and Central Line (PICC/PORT) care
- Valid driver's license with automobile insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, and reaching

Depending on the facility, you may also handle admissions paperwork, manage wound care, supervise medication techs, and respond to emergencies. The documentation load in senior living is significant — state surveys and compliance requirements mean thorough charting is non-negotiable. Many nurses in this setting say the most rewarding part is knowing their residents personally and being able to notice subtle changes that a rotating hospital nurse might miss.
