Job Description

Medical City Dallas seeks a Respiratory Therapist RRT for PRN Peds NICU care, requiring a minimum of 2 night shifts per week. Join our team committed to delivering respectful, compassionate care where colleagues are valued members of the healthcare team.

What You'll Do

  • Assess respiratory status through focused exams, breath sound interpretation, and airway evaluation.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen support, aerosolized medications, and airway clearance techniques.
  • Manage ventilation by assisting with airway placement and adjusting invasive and noninvasive ventilation.
  • Support patients and care teams through education, clinical resources, and emergency stabilization.
  • Maintain equipment, ensure safety standards, and follow all infection-prevention protocols.

Requirements

  • Graduation from NBRC-recognized accredited Respiratory Care program.
  • One year Respiratory Care experience with documented NICU and/or Pediatrics training.
  • CRT, RRT certification by NBRC; Texas Medical Board licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Current BLS provider status; PALS required within 30 days; NRP required within 90 days.

Life-safety equipment checks (fire extinguishers, exit lighting, generator testing) happen on set schedules. Activities professionals plan and lead group programming β€” exercise classes, crafts, music sessions, outings β€” and also provide one-on-one engagement for residents who cannot participate in group settings.
