Registered Nurse (RN) - Program Coordinator Palliative Care - Full-time, Days - MAGNET Hospital, Level I Trauma Center _Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better Together_ Position Highlights * Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 * Work environment: Palliative Care services at Texas Health Fort Worth, a Magnet designated Hospital, Level I Trauma Centerconveniently located close to downtown Fort Worth. * Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm, No Weekend requirement. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is a 833-bed, Magnet-designated regional referral center that has served the residents of Tarrant County and surroundings communities since 1930. Hospital services include cardiovascular care, high-risk obstetrics, gynecology, orthopedics and sports medicine, neonatal intensive care, and trauma/emergency medicine. In early 2014, Texas Health Fort Worth opened a new 75,000 square foot Emergency Services Center, one of the largest in the region. Texas Health Fort Worth has more than 4,000 employees, 200 volunteers and nearly 1,000 physicians on its medical staff. The hospital is also a designated Cycle III Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers Here's what you need: * BSN required * Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire * 3 years' experience in Palliative or Hospice care required The successful Palliative Care Program Coordinator will have the following skills: * Knowledge of palliative care and hospice services, philosophy and end of life issues. Comfort in dealing with death and dying issues, complex social, spiritual and personal issues and the ability to counsel and support patients and families with dignity and respect regardless of their personal belief. * Comfort with advance directive counseling and end-of-life conversations. Ability to speak to palliative and hospice philosophy and practice to advocate service line to clinical and medical staff. * Ability to coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide palliative and hospice care services. * Knowledge of community resources including Medicare/Medicaid, financial aid, county, state and private social services agencies. * Must be able to work independently, have demonstrated patient care planning and patient teaching skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. * Must have general computer skills and a working knowledge of electronic heath records, MS Office, Outlook and the Internet.
